What brings a tear of joy to your eye?
Did you hear that? Actually, wait a second, did anybody else see that?
Yes.
“Son, if you don’t do it you’ll regret it for the rest of your life, hold your breath, close your eyes…..and just fall back. I’ll be here the whole time, trust me, you’re ready.”
“Son, now that it’s done, it’s not such a scary thing..you’ve been inside, you’ve let the fear wash over you, and you left your fears where they belong.”
“Does it look so scary now?”
“Are you still afraid of the American River?”(his first time Whitewater rafting, on the river. I grew up on, 30 years ago today on my 16th birthday. The First of many many times I ever went white water rafting..The river I grew up on where I learned to swim and fish the hard way. Where, I learned of so many Life, blessings and lessons, on the river I lost so many friends. On the River where my son has now found himself.)
“No mom, it’s only water, just like you said, did you see what I did mom? Are you proud of me?”
Yes, yes I am.
That just brought a tear to my eye, and profound gratitude to my heart.
