A leader, or follower.

Are you a leader or a follower?

It depends. If you see me running for any reason, it would behoove you to start running with me. I mean, if you really wanted to follow, I guess you could.

There are a few things to be irrevocable in fact.

I never have followed anyone in my life, I have never needed anyone to follow me. My child stands beside me because I taught him to advocate for himself.

You can ask me for directions and if I’m going that way I can show you the way I learned how. It could be a shortcut, but more than likely it’ll be a long way. If you didn’t know, I am not someone you can follow. I make far too many mistakes and have never fit into the box of normative society. I do and have always marched to the beat of my drummer. I have always been better suited on my island of exile that’s full of no one’s dysfunction but my own.

Oh! I almost forgot to close my stream of consciousness from the beginning. The only time it would be appropriate to follow me is if you were to see me running.

I do not run from anything. I fear nothing.

But, if you do actually see my ass running start to run with me.

Because there would be a goddamned zombie apocalypse chasing me.

That’s the only time I suggest you heed my advice and the only time you’ll see my ass run.

One response to “A leader, or follower.”

  1. I don’t feel it necessary to be either one. Though i don’t mind stepping up to lead if I honestly believe I was the best option. Otherwise I am happy to defer to someone with more experience in a given situation.
